Sentient Manifesto

Creating together is creating more and better.

Sentient, before anything else, is made by people: from people for people. While some here play it safe, seeking not to create expectations in others out of fear of failing and disappointing, others are completely open to risk and tend to throw themselves into the cosmos. For those who fear themselves, the other, or the world, a warning: every time an opportunity arises for you to leverage something and you don't take it due to insecurity about not being good enough (or for any other reason), it's not just the opportunity that vanishes—it's also a bit of you that dies with it. You don't need to be the best; you need to give your best. At some point, in some way, something positive will emerge from it, even if it's the clichéd idea of personal fulfillment or the lesson that only the wound of failure can offer.

The big question here is: don't stop. Don't let someone else's standards determine your potential for success, and if someone along this path believes in you, from the most twisted and improbable angle; use that to believe in yourself too, and not to stay hidden. Taking risks walks hand in hand with the possibility of generating disappointment, frustration; but the opposite of that is nothing, it's stagnation—which, let's face it, is even worse. Trying doesn't cost much—to say the least—and trying is better when you're engaged in this current of kindred spirits, which is the collective, because if one loses heart, another can try to hold the situation together. This support, this access, this exchange that allows ideas to expand, different angles to be explored, are fundamental pillars of the creative process, but very easy to ignore or forget—and that's what Sentient has been trying to rescue.

Within this perspective, we are a marketing agency specializing in the development of startups, products, brands, and digital campaigns, founded on the current of metamodernist thought and creation in Brazil. We believe that collective consciousness should be at the center of every human effort, and because of that, we seek to consider the socio-historical-cultural context of each individual who comes to us (whether client or artist) in everything we do.

Thinking about the purpose of this platform and the idea of developing an environment where it's possible to find autonomy and engagement at the same time, we rely on the idea that by uniting our forces in the space of innovation, we create constellations of ideas: creating together is creating more and better. Our perspective on people is this: amid the immediate demands of contemporaneity, it's necessary to look carefully at each person's processes, respecting their own development timeline, as long as there's willingness to follow through. Thus, in a fluid way, as you pursue (giving your best and working on what you believe in, respecting your own limits), you're allowing yourself to work on self-love and self-respect, but not only that; you're believing in yourself. Our objective is not only to provide you space, but also to encourage you not to give up.

Because we believe that together we are stronger and greater, we brought Sentient to life. What we want to offer here is a space for everyone: whether you're a reader, client, or artist, our objective is to provide relationships of respect, individuality, growth, learning, and entertainment, through this union of people who thirst to do, to be, and also to listen and understand. With all our care and dedication, we wish that you feel you have a little place here with us. Welcome to Sentient, a new way of perceiving others and understanding more about yourself; welcome to our laboratory of creation!

Understand our project

Sentient is a space where we work together. When we speak of working together, we want to bring the notion that it's not our place to shrink within a single perspective or line of thought, whether about art, life, or society. It's precisely because of this that we seek to keep in mind that the product is the fruit of those who produce it: art is the fruit of the artist, with all their historicity and socio-cultural perception. Thus, we also believe, in a way, that art is this disruption of norms, it's this tempestuous questioning of the masses, it's taking a stand, it's bringing things to light, it's feeling with your guts and your heart, but it's, above all, about generating discomfort.

"Creating is generating discomfort?" you ask us. Creating is generating discomfort, we answer you. For us, creating is art, and art is creating, and all of this is about not settling for what the world has to offer and wanting to do something that, in some way, modifies the environment: whether by fighting unequal power relations, whether by reporting journalistically, whether by providing new music that might come to describe feelings previously indescribable, for example. Of course there's also its comfort aspect, like when the goal is to make people feel less alone through an artistic expression that welcomes them, a film, a book, a song… In the end and generally speaking, it's a space for you to be and perceive the other: a new way of being and existing in the world, providing new perspectives on it.
